MY ABUJA FOODIE EXPERIENCE

in #food6 years ago

Hello beautiful people. Hope you're doing great today. Yea, so I was just thinking about my university days back then in Abuja and I remembered this funny story. I've once shared this on someone's comment sometimes ago and I just felt like sharing again.

I used to be a member of a christian dance club and there was a day we were to do an all-night rehearsal and that was my first time having an all-night dance rehearsal with them.

Before we started the rehearsal, we all were served with something really close to this:

It was a combination of bread, fish, plantain, potatoes, sauce, etc... All in one plate for each person. I was like Wawuuuu 😁😁
A full fish for me? Which tommy will it enter? Hahahahhaah... I had to behave myself like a big girl that I am 😁 and I just played along. I ate it steadily with my fork and knife and I really, I mean, really really enjoyed it.

You know what? I'm gonna be talking about what I found out about fishes, bread and potatoes.
There's something really interesting about fishes. Fishes are actually filled with vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin) and also omega-3 fatty acids. Fishes are also really rich in calcium and phosphorus and has really great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.

It might interest you to know that the American Heart Association recommends eating fish at least two times per week as part of a healthy diet. I really love fish as a seafood because of its health benefits and delicious taste, especially when fried or grilled😋😋

Now, bread is a grain food and bread plays an important role in our diet by providing many nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber, which are vital for the health and maintenance of our bodies.

Lastly, Potatoes contain very significant amounts of fiber which helps lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood and therefore decreasing the risk of heart disease. The potato's fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 content all support the heart health especially coupled with the fact that it lacks cholesterol.

So you see, my combination that day wasn't bad after all. Lol... Now guyz, it doesnt matter whether you're rich or poor, good food has no other name than "good" and anything good has great benefits to the body. Eat good... Eat healthy.

Thanks so much for reading...
Till I come your way next time...
