Indonesian cuisine (part 4)

I'm about out of food pics, so this is probably the least exciting post in this series.


Left: Nasi Padang, with grilled chicken, corn fritters, fried tofu and tempeh, and the usual veggies that come with Padang food, ie., cassava leaves and curried jackfruit.
Right: Perkedel bondon and dendeng manis. Fried potato balls are a common item in Indonesia, but these are special because they're fresh and crispy. People come to Bandung and actually wait in a long queue to get them, believe it or not. I really wonder why no one starts selling these in other locations. The sambal and dendeng manis, which is just a kind of soft, sweet beef jerky are also yummy. By the way, 'bondon' basically means 'hooker'. The place chose this name because it only opens at night and there's many hookers in the area.


Left: Bubur ketan hitam, black sticky rice in sweetened coconut milk. It's a nice treat on a cool night.
Right: Bubur candil, tapioca balls and green stuff in sweetened coconut milk. This one is a bit too sweet, I think.
