Today I want to share a recipe of main dish, which is on the holiday table on Christmas in Ukraine .

Dishes from cereals, porridge, were all characteristic of traditional Ukrainian cuisine, as the daily and ritual. Grain Bread symbolizes wealth, prosperity, the human race, happiness; nuts - prosperity and fertility; Honey - "sweet" life and serenity; poppy, according to popular belief, served as a talisman against evil forces.

The main thing - is to properly grind poppy! To do this, I should have pot and rolling pin! Traditionally in Ukraine for Christmas grind poppy man, the father, reading prayer. This  rolling pin symbolizes the male principle, and pot - female. 

Also need to cook wheat porridge. Add butter and salt to taste.

Then pour to raisin hot water and in half an hour drain.

Then chop nuts, mix all products and add honey to taste.

We have prepared a very useful and nutritious meal.
