Living To Eat.. in Italy!

So one of my stages in life was always to become a food expert ( chef, food blogger, food critic) so 3 months ago i moved to Rome to explore flavors, and study cooking. I'm half italian, so i can speak it perfectly.

Today i will talk about a traditional pastry of Rome and Naples called - Bigne di San Giuseppe- , and they are only available on february and march in these areas of Italy. I found this treat the other day walking on the streets of trastevere ( an old Hood in Rome), and a immediately bought one, which was soooo good!!

Is not that sweet, but inside there is this typical Custard, that is so creamy and full of flavors. you could eat 1000 of them!

Dont worry here's a picture the one i was eating ;)

As you can see, even if a took a huge bite of it, it's a fried flour ball filled with custard.

The tradition says that when Maria & Joseph left Egypt , Joseph had to become a Street frier as a temporary job, so he fed his family for a while with these friend sweets. and that's why around fathers day here in central Italy, we eat those delicious, and full of calories pastries :)
