MY FAVOURITE KITCHEN GADGETS (1) - LEIFHEIT SALAD SPINNER
This article will be the first of my ''Favourite Kitchen Gadget'' series. The best way to begin is none else by presenting my Leifheit 23200 salad spinner. I purchased it about 2 months ago and since then it has become one of my favourite kitchen tools. Its double spinning mechanism allows all kinds of leafy greens and vegetables to be almost completely dried within seconds. No more watery salads or waiting for hours until your lettuce dries after you wash it.
Lets start with a few characteristics:
- What you get => L 28 cm x W 28 cm x H 19 cm 5.5 L salad bowl, sieve, lid with spinning mechanism and removable protective plastic
- The bowl has a non-skid base for extra stability and it is also suitable for serving
- The spinner spins in left and right direction, it is durable, easy to use and has a self-winding string
- The sieve is heat resistant and can be used to strain boiled vegetables
- Easy to clean bowl, sieve lid and cover

How to use:
1. Wash your lettuce and add in the sieve
2. Place the sieve into the bowl
3. Put the lid on
4. Pull the string and the sieve starts spinning.
5. The string returns back to each original position after each spin. Spin 3-4 times, depending on the amount of greens
6. Open the lid, remove the sieve and pour the water out. Repeat spinning if necessary
7. Clean the bowl, sieve and lid protector
The lid has a protective plastic cover over the spinning mechanism which is easy to remove and clean

I will give this a total of 4.5/5.
Pros: Works well, good quality, durable material, efficient spinning, easy to use, cheap
Cons: Other salad spinners have more 'steady' spinning mechanisms (but they are also more expensive). Lettuce may not dry 100% if you overload the sieve
