Creamy Methi recipe is restaurant type dish with a little twist. Apart from the rich gravy, it is little healthy due to leafy vegetable. In this recipe i have used fresh leaves instead of dried ones.
Methi Leaves – 1 cup chopped
Asafoetida - pinch
Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
Coriander Seeds - ½ tsp
Red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Green Chillies – 1 (finely chopped)
Tomato – 1 (pureed)
Salt – to taste
Garam masala - ½ tsp
Cream - ¼ cup
Water - ½ cup
Heat oil in a kadai. Add asafetida, cumin seeds, when the seeds starts crackling add coriander seeds and sauté for a minute.
Add green chillies, onion and sauté till onion is pinkish in colour.
Add tomato puree, sauté for 3- 4 minutes.
Add red chilli powder, coriander Powder, turmeric powder and keep stirring for a minute.
Now add methi leaves, mix well and cook for a minute.
Now add water, salt and let it on simmer for 3-4 minutes, so that methi leaves get cooked.
Add garam masala. Mix.
Lastly add cream and cook on low flame for a minute.
Creamy methi is ready to serve.
NOTE:- If you add malai in place of cream, add only 2 tbsp of malai.
