Fish cork (Channa striata) is one type of freshwater fish that has high potential, especially if viewed from the standpoint of food and nutrition. Cork fish are commonly found in public waters and have not been widely cultivated.

This fish is carnivorous with physical features have a body almost round, long and increasingly backward compressed form. The backs are convex, flat belly and flat head like snake (head snake). The color of the body on the back of the green is blackish and the stomach is cream or white. The cork can reach 90 - 110 cm long. These fish live in estuaries of rivers, lakes and can also live in dirty water with low oxygen levels, even resistant to drought. This fish can also be found in various public waters in Indonesian territory with different names. Physical fish cork is presented in the following picture.

Cork is known to contain important compounds that are useful for the body, including protein, fat, and some minerals. Protein content of 25.5% cork fish, which means higher than milkfish protein (20.0%), Goldfish (16.0%), Kakap Fish (20.0%), and Sardine (21.1 %). The albumin content of cork fish can reach 6.224%. Also in the flesh of cork fish contained Zn minerals amounted to 1.7412 mg / 100 grams. []

Yes @rubysteem || Indeed this fish already has a head that is almost the same as a snake. However it has a high protein of marine fish
