Large intake of Fruits is Dangerous on an Empty Stomach
About 20 years ago, in the middle of May in the area named Muzaffarpur in northern India, children suddenly lost consciousness and they were brought into the hospital one after another. Every year, hundreds of children who developed onset, about 40% of which died, were terrible diseases that they continued to deliver more than 100 deaths.
However, as a result of the thorough investigation of the cause by researchers in India and the United States, find eating lychee caused this problem.
The cause of the mysteries deaths is the components contained in the lychee fruit. Bihar province in India where the damage is concentrated is the main production area of Lychee and poor children in the area were eating fruits fallen from the trees.
A survey team composed of Dr. Rajesh Yadav of the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention and researchers of National Center for Disease Control in India reported that 390 people examined at two hospitals in Muzaffarpur from May - June 2014. The research team also collected litchi fruits from Litchi gardens in Muzaffarpur and analyzed their ingredients.
Most of the children brought to the hospital, who had mysterious attacks had low blood glucose levels of 70 mg or less. Also, compared to children who did not have a seizure, the rate at which the children who had seizures had eaten Litchi , especially the one who ate the litchi never had their dinner in previous day.
Furthermore, traces of hypoglycin A and MCPG, which are the toxic substances contained in fruits, were detected from urine of children who had seizures. It was confirmed that hypoglycin A and MCPG had hypoglycemic action and were also contained in litchi collected from Litchi. According to findings, it turned out that lychee was the culprit .
In the case of children who had seizures, it was a problem that they were in hungry because their poor meals were not enough. In other words, Lychee has lowered the blood glucose level which was originally hungry and lowered to a more dangerous level. In the case of children who had seizures, the percentage of those who ate less ripe lychee or rotten lychee.
Health officials who thought that they had identified the cause of death of children in 2015 began to inform local people as " preventing children from having dinner " and " restricting the number of eating litchi " as sudden death prevention measures. As a result, in the past two years, the number of children carried to the hospital has decreased sharply from hundreds to 50 or less per year .
So I do not think that we should not eat Lychee completely. Better eat fruits in Moderation.
Damn! Lychee is my favourite fruit.
