MINGLED CHAPATIS
NOTE:
This recipe stems outta desperate last shot at finally making soft, edible chapatis instead of the hard Frisbee-like chapatis!, products that many of us have ended up with even after kneading our knuckles blue and following all the lovely suggested tips and tricks of the normal way of chapatti making hehehehe…

For all beginners or curious souls and just trying out: You are going to need mainly 2 of all your senses: Sight and Feeling. Please look at, see and feel the consistence of your dough before u roll it out…If it’s too soft, add flour to it until u have a good-enough-to-roll-out-TIGHT-dough.

I still don’t have measurements and thus you need those senses my dears.

INGREDIENTS: (all these you can adjust to your personal taste)

  • Water,
  • Butter/Oil/Margarine,
  • Salt,
    -a pinch of Sugar,
  • Onions, grated Vegetables preferrably carrots

METHOD:

  1. Boil the water and add Salt, Sugar, grated Onions, Butter/Margarine/oil (+ whatever vegetable u want to add). Note: Just ALITTLE of the Butter/oil/Margarine.

  2. REDUCE water into a side bowl and keep the rest boiling on LOW heat. (This is where some prefer to take the water off fire, so the choice is yours.

  3. Add flour to boiling spiced water (add more flour than u would normally) and start to mingle. Note: Add a little flour/water when need be “Senses for the consistence” and mingle for abt 2-3mins until dough no longer sticks to pan.

  4. Take the dough outta pan and onto a floured board. Then knead the dough adding some flour in case it’s too soft and make balls. Note: Make sure NOT to burn yourself, in case it's still too hot then just continue mingling with the spoon(i actually use a mingling stick since it is hot).

  5. Roll out your Chapatis into dough balls remembering to flour the rolling pin and board and dough. Note: Not too thin and neither too soft to break.

  6. Get frying utensils ready. A pan, some oil for the smearing, a kitchen tissue to clean the pan of all oil remnants be4 u put in the next chapati and something to help u turn the chapatis over while they fry ...

  7. Now heat the pan..i use medium heat.

  8. Put Chapati in preheated pan without oil and brown side A. Then turn over to brown side B. While side B browns, smear “NOT POUR” oil on side A. Do the same to B WHEN u turn the chapati again.

  9. ENJOY YOUR SOFT, FOLDABLE, ROLLABLE and NOT AT ALL RELATED TO FRISBEES CHAPATIS WITH AN ALL TEETH SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
