Rodents, a common delicacy in Africa

in #food7 years ago

As I waited to witness the dawn of a New Year so did a group of men monitor a rat hole they had discovered during the latter hour. The not-so-lucky rat that showed up was taken by surprise by these vigilant men such that, it did not have any chance of escaping thus was instantly killed by a single blow of a club. They set a fire using pieces of wood around to roast their prey right away.
Rats and many other rodents such as grasscutter and squirrels are common delicacy amongst many natives across Africa. Some people in the remote communities depend on hunting and selling of rodents as a source of income. They normally prefer to sell their catch to folks from big cities since they buy at higher prices due to the difficulty of getting bush meat in the cities.
