Chicken Pot Pie - Trying new recipes

So yesterday was a cold rainy day here in the Seattle area, and me and the girlfriend decided to try something new for dinner. We have never attempted to make homemade pot pies from scratch, so we did. We found a recipe online that was pretty easy, and we tried it out.
