Ever wonder what to do with those bananas the kids didn't eat?20170626_151159_HDR.jpg

Or that sour cream left over from taco night?

This recipe will help with both of those commonly wasted ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 6 overripe bananas, mashedvideotogif_2017.06.28_13.18.51.gif

  • 4 large eggs at room temp20170628_120315.jpg

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened20170628_121012.jpg

  • 2 cups sugar20170628_120324.jpg

  • 3 cups all purpose flour20170628_120332.jpg

  • 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tbsp vanilla

  • And 1 cup sour cream20170628_121025.jpg

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • In a large bowl whip the butter together with the sugar.
  • Add the eggs
  • Mix the baking soda into the flour then slowly add the flour while mixing. The batter will thicken.
  • Add the vanilla, then the sour cream.
If you want to, at this point you can add some spice. I ground a little fresh nutmeg into it. 20170628_133820_HDR.jpg
  • Add the mushed banana and stir well.
  • Pour the batter into two well greased bread pans
  • Put into oven on middle rack and bake for about an hour, checking near the end with a toothpick or cake tester. When the tester comes out clean, it's done. Remove them and put on counter to cool1498680259196456800336.jpg
  • Slice and enjoy! This is the childrens' favorite part. And mine!

I loved the first picture of your princesses , one of my favorite cakes as well :D

Love banana bread. Great addition of nutmeg, it balances it all out.

It really brought it all together. It was the first time I have tried it. Thanks

That's great. Family is made in the kitchen. :)

Beautiful princesses. Those cakes look really delicious. Can I have a slice please? 😁

Thank you. Sure you can have some.😝

you are welcome. 🤣

Princesses shouldn't have to toil making their old man banana bread. You didn't even give them chocolate chips to add, what's wrong with you?

Sometimes we add chocolate chips, but we used them in episode 1 lol

nicely done ...looks yummy

Thanks! It is soooo good.

you're welcome :)
