A Taste of Thailand from 6,000 Miles Away! Chesterfield, UK

To celebrate our friend Anne's birthday we went for a meal at Siam Palace in Chesterfield, UK last night. To our amazement the restaurant resembled an indoor Thai village!

Me and my husband @danpaulson visited Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and Bangkok in Thailand last year for Dan's 40th birthday, and although this was just a restaurant it gave us a real feeling of nostalgia!

The Thai family who run Siam Palace seem to thoroughly enjoy working at their restaurant and the food was excellent.

Like most Thai restaurants there was a great selection of vegan food available off the vegetarian section of the menu, and a helpful numbered chart showing a wide range of allergens such as wheat and soy, and which dishes contained them, making it easy to choose your meal.

It seemed quite an Alice in Wonderland experience to step off the winter streets of Chesterfield to enter a Thai village! The main seating area is sunken, so that you step down into it to be able to sit on Thai seating.

I hope you will make a visit to Chesterfield one day, and if you do this Thai restaurant comes highly recommended!

    i absolutely love the thai people and the food, so fresh, clean, incredible flavours. i miss going to the thai place. gotta get my car sorted properly for the new year! :) have a good one!
