Turn Old Grocery Store Croissants Into Fresh, Crispy Honey Butter Croissants
If I had to name my favorite type of bread it would be croissants. I've always loved croissants and I usually buy some once a week. I eat them as a quick breakfast smeared with a little butter. It's easy to find croissants at any local grocery store in their bakery section.
Not Always Fresh Tasting
The problem with buying bread from the big chain grocery store bakery is that the bread doesn't always taste fresh. I've eaten enough bakery bread to know when my croissants have been sitting a while. I have a little trick that fixes that problem.
Pop the Croissant In The Oven
Smear some butter on the top, put it under the broiler for about 5 minutes and it returns the crispiness of the outside of the bread and make it taste fresh. You know it's done when you poke it and the outside feels hard. Croissants that have been sitting are very soft on the outside. Crispy edges means you are ready to get them out of the oven and eat.
How To Make Honey Butter Croissants
I really love honey butter croissants. If you want to freshen up old croissants and want to use the oven method to crisp them back up then add a little honey. I smear softened butter all over the top then drizzle honey all over the croissant and put it in the oven.

After Baking All Crisp and Shiney
After you either broil the croissants for 5 minutes or bake them at 350 degrees for 10 minutes they should be ready. The honey and butter bake into the crust so that it is crispy and flaky with a hint of sweetness to each bite.
Perfect With Many Dishes
I ate these croissants with spaghetti. To be honest I think the perfect dish for honey butter croissants is a fresh salad. A cold salad with crisp lettuce mixed with a nice, warm, sweet honey butter croissant is a filling meal and very refreshing.
