Chocolate Multi layer Cake ! Yum ^^ with * RECIPE *

It was my husband's birthday so I thought about baking a lovely cake instead of buying one , it feels more special when you back it right !

So at that time I had a new 3 cake pans to bake multi layer cake :D so I decided to use them for a multi layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing and chocolate everything lol

so lets dig in anyway and tell you the ingredients..

                                                                                                               

Hint: for this one i used round pans size 20cm and since I had only 3 so I baked 3 and then  took one and resued it for the mix left. so I ended up with 4 layers ...


for the cake :

  • 150g cocoa powder.
  • 360g butter (room temp)
  • 600ml hot water( boiling)
  • 600g caster sugar (also known as superfine sugar)
  • 6 eggs (room temp)
  • 360g self-rising flour
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 2tsp baking powder
  • 1/2tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2tsp salt

for the buttercream:

  • 250g butter (room temp or softened)
  • 500g icing sugar
  • 200g dark chocolate ( or more if you like)
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 2tbsp milk


So 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C( we use here Celsius but I believe its 350F)
  2. In 1 bowl mix the cocoa powder with the boiling water and stir until it gets smooth then put it aside to cool.
  3. Another bowl , sift the flour + salt + backing powder +bicarbonate of soda and put it aside.
  4. mix the butter and the sugar until it gets fluffy and light , then add the vanilla , then the eggs (one by one), keep mixing while adding them.
  5. Add to this mix all the flour slowly , then mix with the cooled cocoa that we prepared in the beginning .
  6. now grease and flour your pans and start divide your mixture between them. ( don't fill the pan , for me as I said I used the 3 pans and had some mixture left then i reused one of them for the left mixture, so 4 layers 20 cm .... If you use 25 cm so only 3 pans r cool)
  7.  Put in the oven for 35 mins or until its cooked (when you stick a thin stick into the cake and comes out clean)
  8. get the pans out of the oven and try to loosen the edges then let them cool around 15  mins then move them to a rack to cool completely .

While the layers are getting cool we will prepare the buttercream

  1. Melt the chocolate in the way you like .
  2. now cream the butter and when it gets smooth start adding the icing sugar slowly and keep mixing until it gets fluffy.
  3. now add the melted chocolate and mix them together to combine , then add the vanilla and milk and keep mixing until the whole mixture gets smooth, ( you can add alittle bit of milk if you start spreading the mixture and find it hard to spread, add and mix until you get the needed texture )

After that when your layers are cool prepare them if there is a pump or they r not at one lever , cut the top if it needed so , 

Start putting one layer then spread some of the cream over it then the next layer and so  on

then cover the whole cake with the cream ..

Then decorate it they way you want ..

May be you put melted plain chocolate on the top and let it fall one the sides

Maybe some grated chocolate

maybe like me ,,, I have 2 kids so they like to see many colors over the cake ... (the golden pieces are normal pieces of chocolate and  I used  golden powder I have to change their colors only )
