The Samar Delicacy Binagol
The Binagol delicacy was came from Samar Leyte, This delicacy was made from grated gabi and cooked in coconut shells and wrapped in banana leaves. That can be sold for only 105 pesos ($1.94), Let me share the ingredients on how to make this Binagol Delicacy from Samar.

Total Time 40 minutes
Ingredients
- ¾ cups shredded raw gabi [Taro root]
- 1 cup rich coconut milk [2 medium coconuts]
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- 4 clean medium coconut shells [4½" diameter and 2" high]
- ½ can of (1 oz) full cream condensed milk
- 4 egg yolks
- Wilted banana leaves
- String for tying
Procedure
- Mix first three ingredients and cook over moderate heat for 6 minutes, Then constantly stirring.
- Lower the heat and continue cooking for about 10 minutes.
- Add the condensed milk and cook over low heat 20 minutes longer, Then stirring constantly.
- Fill each coconut shell with the mixture. Then, Make a well in center and drop raw egg yolk.
- Cover the top with tuber mixture andthen spread until smooth, very close to brim or shell.
- Cover The whole shell with two layers banana leaves and then tie securely with strings.
- Steam for about half an hour 12 servings.
