How to make delicious banana arepas

Today I am going to talk about one of my favorite breakfasts and dinners ** THE BANANA AREPAS **. But first I will explain to you ** WHAT ARE THE AREPAS? **.

In Venezuela, we find a large variety of brands of precooked corn flour. Some of these brands are Juana, Demasa, CASA, Venezuela and Flour National Food Product (PAN Flour).

Banana Arepas 😃
Ingredients for 3 or 4 arepas
2 ripe bananas
Approximately 200 g of pre-cooked corn flour
1 egg
100 g of grated white cheese
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of sugar
pinch of salt

Preparation
  1. Chop the bananas with the shell in three or four pieces and put them to parboil in abundant boiling water until they are soft and soft, lower the heat and remove the water, let cool.

  2. Remove the shell from the bananas and, with the help of a fork, crush until it forms a puree.

  3. Add the egg, cheese, sugar and cinnamon on the mashed potatoes, add the corn flour and knead until the mixture acquires a solid, manipulable consistency, it should be soft, you should not add a lot of flour, which means that they are hard. Let stand a few minutes and knead again to check that they have a good texture.

  4. Make balls and flatten with your hands to form the arepas.

  5. Put in a budare previously heated and cook over medium heat until brown on both sides. Serve them still hot with the companion of your preference.
