Am Malini from India and this is my first post on Steemit and super excited to be here :) Cooking is a passion and so is travelling and would love to share some stories with you :)

Everyday Indian recipes are easy and simple to cook ...they are a healthy alternative to the greasy and creamy curries we usually get at the take-away's ...of course the poultry and meat options require more time and special ingredients but there are several really easy & healthy recipes that we use in our daily cooking that are delicious and simple to cook ...

Here's looking at one :)

Potato Curry : Recipe for 2

Potatoes : 6-7 small or 3-4 large
Tomatoes : 4 small or 2 large
Cumin seeds : 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil : 2 table spoons
Turmeric Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
Salt : to taste
Ginger : Small diced
Green chilli's : Optional
Coriander : For garnish

Step 1 : I usually precook the potatoes in the microwave - 4 minutes on either side - scoring the potatoes help in cooking ..

Step 2 : Dice the microwaved / cooked potatoes and set aside .

Step 3 : Slit the green chilli's , finely dice the ginger and roughly chop the tomatoes .

Step 9 : Add 1 cup water to the mix and bring to a boil ...Set aside and garnish with fresh Coriander ...

Enjoy hot and steamy , yummy potato curry with rice or bread ..... you don't even need a naan bread with this ...a humble loaf of bread will taste amazing with this curry .

  • One main& staple ingredient in all Indian recipes is the Turmeric powder .....this is now available in most of the grocery outlets ...Indian shops , of course would have stock of this at all times ...

Would love to hear back from any of you if any of you tried making this at home :)

Cheers ,
