Hong Kong | A Foodie Travel Guide

This is my very first post, and I am very excited to join this community. My name is Macaronlele- Yes, I love macarons ;) I am a foodie, a world traveler, and yes I am sweets addicted. I spent 9 years in the US and now in Beijing.

During the Spring Festival in 2018, I went to Hong Kong, a melting pot. Although Hong Kong is small, it has different cultures and different ethics of people. I believe food is always a part of the culture. Hong Kong has more than 10 thousand different restaurants, and the different regions have unique food features. Tongluowan is famous for the traditional Cantonese style food, Lan Kwai Fong has exotic seafood in Xigong, Tsim Sha Tsui, global delicacy, Shamshuipo snack. In Tongluowan, Central, Sheung Wan and Tsim Sha Tsui, the cost of living is high (for example, the McDonald's prices are different in these areas), however, the consumption of Mong Kok is relatively low. Let's take a look at my recommendation.

1. NIKUSHOU

The best of Hongkong meat maker NIKUSHOU Japanese kaiseki + barbecue restaurant, Australian beef, Kumamoto black beef, Miyazaki beef, Kobe beef (after more than 14 months of finishing in Gifu County in black cattle). Light meat is certainly not enough to eat, seasonal dishes with Japanese chef Hayashi, plus 5 or 7 pieces of beef, bursting with happiness, plus black truffle. The owner Antonie is a real gentleman. He is strict with the source of goods, a black truffle from Alba, rice in Hokkaido, has worked with a number of Japanese beef suppliers. Go a few steps, you can see the super famous Kau Kee Restaurant. ( Their beef noodle soup was one of the best in Hong Kong a few years ago. People rather spent 2-3 hours lining up to get a seat in the restaurant). Today the shop happened to be closed. Cute paintings on the door.

The best of Hongkong to eat soup at the end of Hand-Pulled Noodle is this! Rose with pork soup. There are few seats. You can try the Lan Kwai Fong.

1. Dim Sum Square

1. Tai Cheong Bakery

Famous for the former governor Peng Dingkang visited the shop has been open for 50 years, there is no schedule when the egg tarts sold out and then baked.
I tried twice during my stay in Hong Kong. The first time was okay. However, the second time was mind-blowing, you see the freshly baked cookie crusted egg tarts？ Super crisp, smooth taste.
