IT'S NOT "HOME EC" - IT'S JUST LIFE
What a tasty bunch of cookies, but WHY do we have them?
These are the great things in life that we really enjoy. @Papa-pepper was just wrapping up an excellent dinner when he was asked if he wanted a cookie for dessert. A cookie?
But WHY are there cookies? WHERE did they come from? WHY are they so hot, moist, and tasty? Interestingly enough, Pinkie-Pepper had just wanted to make some. While @papa-pepper was taking care of business elsewhere, Pinkie-Pepper had asked @mama-pepper if she could make some cookies. Although she is "only seven," she's been around teh kitchen enough and helped out enough to handle a simple recipe like this.
With Red-Pepper by her side to help, our girls got busy and took care of dessert.... now if they'd only take care of the dishes...
Just kidding, they do that too! Anyway, in a day and age when families living together and interacting together is becoming increasingly rare, we are so blessed that our children can not only be exposed to things like making cookies, but that they can even be given the opportunity to enjoy making their own. Just the fact that they are willing to ask if they can make some is pretty cool too. Any child can ask for a cookie, but asking to make a whole batch of cookies is even better.
Of course they get to taste the "fruit" of their labor too! I think that it is unfortunate that so many kids will even graduate high school these days with no idea how to do something as simple as making a batch of cookies. Sure, they can also just go to the nearest store and purchase some with their credit card, but still. Anyway, for all of the parents out there, how you raise your children is your choice, but please, raise your children.
The byproducts of the things that they learn how to do can be incredibly delicious!
Those cookies sure do look tasty. We love you.
We love you too Grandpa! Thanks!
Wow, Steemit cookies, Nice one....
The logo is digital, but the cookies are still delicious... or at least they were...
Well done girls! Such happy faces!
This was my question too. With seven mouths... how do these things even still exist?
When I made cookies, as a young person, all of the family would stop to eat the cookie dough. I can't eat cookie dough, because I am allergic to raw eggs. They would come and steal my hard work before I could even back some for myself. Then, they would come and steal the baked ones too.
OH no! Cookie-dough thieves!
Great. The children are able to cook a very good cake. They are very independent because they are educated by very great parents. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you!
You are welcome 😊.
Great post! Cookies are a dime a dozen but family time is priceless! Blessings to you and your family.
@little-peppers Not like homemade cookies :) Enjoy, and Merry Christmas little ones :)
Homemade is the best!
Yum! Cookies! Yes, it is great when children learn the basics like cooking/baking. You never know where that simple inspiration and knowledge will lead in a child's mind. They may become great chefs one day.
It'll certainly come in handy down the road! Thanks!
Congratulation
Today one year ago you joined SteemItThank you, for making SteemIt great and Steem on for more years to come!
(You are being celebrated here)
Thank you for the heads up!
I bet they didn't last very long either. They can make some more tomorrow or the next day, what a great skill they are learning, and having fun doing it.
No, they didn't last that long, but we did manage to at least enjoy them for multiple day. We've got to practice our self-control after all! Thanks @len-george!
You will have to sweet talk Mama-Pepper into bigger batches, or more cooking.
Keeping Papa away might help them last longer as well.
