Potato Cakes

The name's not funny comes from the look of the cake. Although the sweet treats are delicious, they look like potatoes. Another way to utilize the old food, potato cakes are traditionally made up of stale cake mixed with condensed milk, dried fruit and nuts, and liquor.

These balls are then sprinkled with cocoa and put into the fridge. Modern recipes replace the stale cake sponge cake with plain or crushed crackers.
