Parisian Gourmet - Day 14

People who visit France (and Paris in particular) and want to try the best, most basic French dishes often get a recommendation to try and have a French onion soup. On its face, it's a very good recommendation, since this soup, when cooked properly, is one of the best things a person can ask for. However, Paris is a city of many tourists, and many restaurants have compromised on quality to provide cheap, popular food, and then you go there and ask for the famous onion soup, but all you get is a bowl of watery soup with barely any flavor, and not so many good memories.

How do you avoid this problem, and find the best onion soup in Paris? That's easy - just ask me!
As part of my work as a trip planner, I conduct regular research on the best things and places in Paris, but also about the best dishes and where to find them. And so, I happen to know that this soup (and the one in this particular photo, too) is served at Au Pied de Cochon, a restaurant that was already mentioned here, in the desserts section, about a month ago. Open 24/7, this restaurant will welcome you any time and any day, and share with you its amazing soup (just don't forget to take the profiteroles dessert after you're done, and you'll be good to go).
