My cricket spaghetti 🍝 meal.

in #food7 years ago

Hello people👋.
So a couple of months ago I stopped by Moms Organic store and bought spaghetti sauce and spaghetti. I just picked up a random jar without reading the information on it. When I got home I realized that it had ground up crickets in it. I was like ok, this would be interesting. I’m pretty open minded especially with food. So I made it and after tasting it, i did not think it was that bad.
Here’s what the jar looks like 12AAD173-C117-483C-919E-C512DECA7256.jpeg

Let me share my cooking process

  • First I made garlic oil. That’s done by cooking diced up garlic in a very low heat temperature.
  • At the same time I cooked some chicken that I also bought . I put various spices in it with salt to taste.
After the garlic had infused enough into the oil I turned it off and waited for the chicken to catch up. It didn’t take long to cook.
  • when the chicken got done I turn the fire off. Then returned to the garlic oil and added the tomatoe cricket sauce to it😺. Then I added the chicken and let them cook together.
  • Boiled some spaghetti and mixed them together. Here’s what it looked like when I was done.

I try not to make too much food as I don’t want to waste. Also I can’t eat the same thing all week.

Proponents of cricket eating say they are better source of protein due to increasing population. They require less food and water to produce the same amount of protein from cattle and poultry.
Will any of you consider switching to eating more insects to accommodate a growing population?

Can I ask for some? :)

You want to eat crickets?

Jiminy Cricket!

What's that?

Oh I will spare jiminy cricket from my stew. Lol

Lol. Jimmy cricket shouldn't come close

Sphag cooked with chicken, am sure that meal was delicious. I can cook something close to this but not sure I will be a better cook than you.
About the cricket, I can't switch to eating insect. I will have to manage the one that require more water and less protein

You want to manage and eat meat and chicken? That's not managing, 😂that's a luxury relatively speaking.

Hahahaha, was kidding about that. Lolz

Just go through your publication, to thank you, thank you.
My grandfather always told me, when you do something for someone, he thanks.
But when someone does something for you. thanks twice to that person and another to God. but you give it to that person, God will listen to you through it

Thanks for your support. Thank you

Game wonderful and nice well done, my dear

It's sounds good. Nice cooking experience and it's looking delicious.

I like your open mindedness.

Love the garlic part. Thanks for sharing, hehe. You are awesome. I'm Oatmeal Joey Arnold. You can call me Joey.

Nice to meet you Joey.

Hello friend!.. You know, there is a difference in eating an unusual animal in a can with the preparation, and having it to hunt it in the woods and not knowing how to prepare it. I choose the first ... The repeated food bored certainly, but when you live in Venezuela you have to settle. For example: Do you know how much chicken does? ... more than 15 days ago ... to say the least ... I hope you invite me to lunch one day! 😅😅😅

If you come here I might invite you.

I would be delighted. But if I manage to go there I will invite you! .. 😃😃😃 Have a Happy Afternoon!..👍😎

Cricket meal? ... I had heard that they had many nutrients but I did not know they came canned. 😃

They do for a reason.

This is the second time within a week that I am seeing the word; "Bolognese". Although, the first was prepared with beef with other vegetables that I don't know if they exist here on it.

The mention of the name cricket kind of got me interested. I like experimenting different cooking ways, too.

Spaghetti Bolognese....Enjoy your meal, dear.

Thanks. I think the word bolognese she is Italian.
