How to - Lumpiang Sariwa

Hello everyone! Let's take a look on how to cook some Fresh Spring Rolls in Philippine version. Enjoy! XOXO.

Ingredients :

cabbage
carrots
sweet potato
peanuts
soy sauce
cornstarch
fish sauce
lettuce
pork
tofu
string beans
onions
brown sugar
shrimps
cilantro
garlic

pork cubes
all purpose flour
milk
cooking oil
eggs
salt

Procedure :

Filling

  1. Heat cooking oil in a pan and fry garlic and onions until tender. Add in the pork.
  2. Add pork cube when the meat is brown. Pour the water, stir to mix them all and let the liquid evaporate.
  3. When meat is tender and water has mostly evaporated, add in the shrimps and sweet potatoes. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add in the tofu, let it cook for a few minutes until tender.
  5. Add in the cilantro, carrots and string beans. Mix them well.
  6. Add the cabbage and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  7. Season with fish sauce, stir. Remove from heat and set aside.

Wrapper

  1. Beat the eggs in a bowl, add in the milk, salt, all purpose flour and cooking oil.
  2. In a medium - heated nonstick pan, grease pan with butter and oil. Evenly distribute the flour mixture.
  3. Once it has lightly dried, ready to peel the wrapper slowly with a spatula.

Sauce

  1. Boil water in a pot, add in the brown sugar, 1/2 pork cube, salt, soy sauce. Mix them well.
  2. Add in minced garlic and diluted cornstarch. Thicken the sauce and remove from heat.
  3. Lay the wrapper in a plate. Fill it with the vegetable filling together with the lettuce leaf.
  4. Ready to serve with the sauce and garnish with crushed peanuts and minced garlic.
