We all love to have some sweet food sometimes, aren’t we? But the moment you take a bite - or two - from the chocolate bar, you start feeling regret. Isn’t it such a pity, that the enjoyment of sweet food, always comes with regrets and self- hate? Well, I’m here to change exactly that! Let’s start off with the delicioso, super easy to prepare: “Sweet Date Caramel”


Dates - the Arabian superfruit

But before I start preparing the Date Caramel, I would like to show you, the incredible health benefits of this superfruit. Dates have a long tradition in middle eastern countries. They are known as energy boosters and nutritious bombs. You heard right, these little rascals have what it takes. I heard quite often that Dates where the number one source of Calories, Sugar, and essential Vitamins. Nomads only needed 8 dates, per day, to survive! Pretty impressive right? Here is a picture, summarizing all the benefits, of this sweet fruit, for your health:

What do we need?

Keep in mind, that I prepared a portion for 4 People. If you want to prepare a portion for 2, or even just for yourself, you can easily adjust the portion size accordingly.

I used:
  • 14 dates (you should have two more, in standby)
  • 6 TBL almond milk (I’m sure normal Milk would do it’s job, as well)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • Water (in case of emergency)
  • a Blender

Le Preparation

First, you need to remove the stone from the dates. After you have accomplished the task, you can put the nude Dates into a blender.

Now add the Almond Milk. I prefer almond milk over plain cow milk, because of its health benefits and the nutty taste it adds to the Date Caramel. Trust me, the nutty note just makes it, even more, *moooaww*

Now add the Vanilla.

Let the show begin! If the mixture is too thick, you can just add some water to it and if is too thin, just add one of your “Standby- Dates”. Congratulations, now you have a healthy and vegan Date Caramel and it was pretty easy to prepare - am I right? The great thing is, that you can now use it as you like.

Just take an apple, put it on a plate with a little bit of water and microwave it for about 10 Minutes. Get yourself some Vanilla Icecream and Cinnamon powder. Et Voilà- you have the perfect dessert to impress your friends!

dates have a high glycemic index, so they are not suitable for people on a weight loss program, but if everything is OK with the weight, then why not. cool recipe! follow @chris.roy :)

Yes, you are absolutely right!
But still, this Date Caramel is a great replacement for all of us, who simply can't resist the sweet temptation. :D
