Too good to go - budget traveller app to find cheap food and help restaurants decrease thrown away meals
I have a great tip for budget travelers and for all who hate to food going to waste.
Yesterday, I have read a post written by @gardenofeden, which was about food that is thrown away (you can find it here). After reading it, I thought it is a good idea to share an initiative/an app called "Too good to go". This initiative was started by a group of friends from Denmark, and its aim is to encourage restaurants to sell meals that were not sold during the rush hours and are still good and fresh but would be thrown away at the end of the day.
This app finds restaurants near you from which you can choose what you want to eat. Then you book and pay for meal which is usually 1/3 or 1/2 of a regular price. (save money while traveling!!) All you have left to do is to go to the restaurant/cafe within an assigned time frame, show your phone with a proof of payment and pick up your food. As a result a restaurant doesn't waste food and the customer can eat cheaper meal.
This initiative is spreading across big cities in Europe and the creators look for restaurant owners who would like to participate in this project all over the world.

Wow! What a great idea! I will gladly pay half price or 1/3 , who cares if the time is off, it can always be nuked or reheated in the oven, especially if its pizza or pasta , wings, ribs ! Which are all good cold anyways! I hope soon its available in British Columbia Canada! Thanks for shareing! Steem on! ♨👍♨

Yes! Most definitely, and im sure it will ! Especially with the cost of food and eating out or ordering in, ites very expensive! We only finger cook once a month on the last Wednesday of the month we order pizza! And split it 3 ways, otherwise we just cant afford it here in Canada! I will be watching for it !
