History of Donuts

in #food6 years ago

Donuts are fried snacks made from flour, sugar, egg and butter dough. The most common donuts are ring-shaped donuts with a hole in the middle and round donuts with sweetish contents, such as various types of jam, jelly, cream, and custard. Donuts are completely different from bagels, from dough ingredients, manufacturing techniques to serving, although both have similar shapes.

The origin of donuts is often a source of debate. One theory says donuts are brought to North America by immigrants from the Netherlands who also popularize other desserts, such as: pastries, cream pies (cream pies) and fruit pies (cobbler).Another story says a donut-shaped ring was created by a Danish captain named Hanson Gregory. The captain often had to drive the ship with both hands because the ship was often hit by a storm. The fried cake that was eaten while driving was jabbed into the steering wheel of the vessel, so the cake became a hole. Incidentally the center of the cake is also often immature, so that donuts deliberately made perforated in the middle so that the donut surface affected by oil increases and donuts quickly mature.
