Australia Dairy Company - Restaurant in HK famous for poor attitude
Australia Dairy Company (澳牛) is a really famous local restaurant in Hong Kong. Why is it so famous? Because of the poor attitude of the staff! However the food is actually really delicious at the same time.
Golden rules
- Pay attention to the waiters. Do not ask them to repeat. Otherwise you will be scolded.
- Do not request to sit in a particular place. Otherwise you will be scolded.
- Make your decision quickly after you have seated. Otherwise you will be scolded.
- Order quickly. Otherwise you will be scolded.
- Eat quickly. Expect to finish your meal and leave in 15 minutes. Otherwise you will be scolded.

As you can see from the photo below, there are always lots of people queuing outside!
This restaurant serves only a limited choice of food, including toast, scrambled eggs and noddles. However all these food are really delicious. I have tried by myself so believe me :)
This is the environment of the restaurant. Really crowded and does not have lots of seats.
Why so many people still wish to visit this restaurant even though it is well-known for their poor attitude? Perhaps HK people love to be scolded? Or the food is soooo delicious that they are willing to pay the cost of being served by rude staffs?
It is difficult to say whether the quality of food is worth the wait and waiter's poor attitude. Anyway, the fact is every day there are still lots of people queuing outside this restaurant. Will you give it a try if you have a chance to visit HK?

Finally an article about 澳牛. It's a traditional HK-style tea restaurant and despite its seemingly impolite treating the customers I thinl it's worth for friends from other countries to have a try. It's a must to try out any tea restaurant should you love to try out local food of HK!

But they are nice to tourists and foreign residence who can't speak Cantonese very well, but try hard to say.
Next time may be you can pretend to be a tourist, lol

I've visited the restaurant on several occasions and didn't have the opportunity to be scolded, despite my indecisiveness and slow eating. Maybe the waiters just like my presence there? Or is it just an overly exaggerated rule that somewhat became a publicity tactic? Haha.
