Hello dear my steemit friends,
Today I am gonna show you how to make one of the famous Turkish dessert Baklava. We celebrate eid aladha in Turkey now. It’s very common to make baklava for Eid. When guests come to visit, we served them baklava. It’s religious holiday in Turkey now so I don’t work these days and I decided to make baklava with my mom.
Directions
Start by transfering the one egg, 1 spoon yoghurt, 1 tea spoon baking powder, half glass of milk,150 gr melted butter and half glaas of olive oil into a large plate or another thing which is suitable. Mix it with your hands for a while and then add 4- 5 glass of flour gradually and again mix it. You will and up with a medium hard dough.
After you make the dough medium hard, cut the dough small pieces like the picture below.
And now you should roll each dough ball around 8 inches in diameter.
After you are done, grease the tray and then put one dough. Please follow the pictures.
After you put a few dough on the tray, spread some walnut.
Do it the same routine until you finish all the dough.
Once you are done, slice your baklava into square.
After you sliced your baklava, pour 200 gr melted butter on the baklava.
And then put the tray on 180 C pre heated oven, bake for around 25 to 30 minutes.
Preparing the syrup
Transfer 2,5 glass of water into a pot and add 3,5 glass of sugar into a pot. And then boil it about 15 minutes. When it started to boil, pour 1 spoon lemon juice.
After bake baklava around 30 minutes in the oven, let it for cooling. After about 1 hour, you can pour all the syrup on the baklava.
