Yes, there is unfortunatly no doubt about that. It's rye-bread or weak legs. But it does indeed look delicious, and to be honest I do eat my chanterelles on roasted white or mixed flour bread. I have upvoted your splendid post and am following you from now on.
P.S. Never tried the slippery jack, but will look for it. Normally we take penny bun, the
boletus badius and the boletus luridiformis.
haha - I better get some rye bread soon!
I am always hopeful that I will get some Boletus in my yard. So far, I have to keep waiting..... There are so many great mushrooms to eat. Chanterelles on toast? Yum! :D
