Soy Pudding aka Taho

Every morning a taho vendor would pass by our neighborhood shouting "tahoooo". Then most people would swarm in and buy a cup or more of this soy pudding, popularly known as taho in our language.
Taho is a combination of sago or pearl tapioca, softened tofu and arnibal which is a caramelized sugar with vanilla. When you buy it, the vendor would put condensed milk and it's good to go. This food is not expensive at all, you can buy a small cup of taho for only 5 pesos. You can go large for 10 pesos. Some people consider this food as snack but here in our place, I bet this has become either an appetizer for breakfast or dessert.
When I was working on a graveyard shift, I had a close friend who liked to treat me out for a cup of taho. We usually passed by a taho vendor on our way home, so it is very convenient, and we just actually ate the taho on that same street. It's actually delightful, sometimes, we bought another if the first one we consumed could not suffice our craving.
Health corner. Apart from it's affordable, this food is healthy for our body because it is rich in protein, which is helpful in decreasing cholesterol intake. Also, according to www.eaglenews.ph, a recent study said that taho can also help prevent heart disease. It can also prevent the formation of tumors that causes cancer and related diseases, as there is a link between soy consumption and cancer prevention.
