Spiced Rice - Traditional Taste of Aceh

If you have checked my Bu Minyeuk post, I will share you the recipe and how to cook it. This rice is cooked with herbs, spice and some salt to enrich the taste. It smells so good just from the first step of cooking. I love this rice and easy to cook.

Ingredients:

  • Rice
  • Lemon grass
  • Screwpine leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Bay leaves
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamom
  • Ginger
  • Star Anice
  • Shallot
  • Garlic
  • Salt
  • Cooking oil
  • Water

Spice Powder:

  • Nutmeg
  • Cumin
  • Clove
  • Peper

Instructions:

Wash the rice and all ingredients (of course not the spice powder)

Prepare all the ingredients for sauteing the herb.
Chop shallot, garlic, ginger and screw-pine leaves and crush lemon grass.

Heat the cooking oil in a big pan then add in all the herbs.

When the smell good comes out, add in rice and some water.

Stir thoroughly, add in powder spice and salt. Wait the water out.

Heat the steamer then place the rice into. Steam for 20 minutes.

Serve.
