Pumpkin Cookies. do you like dessert?
Today i will show you how to make Pumpkin Cookies for the upcoming holidays. I hope you like.
1 cup sugar
1 cup canned pumpkin( If you want real pumpkin ask and i will show you how to make pumpkin puree)
1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
2 tbsp orange zest
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Okay this is the messy part add the flour, pumpkin, shortening and sugar and mix until creamy. Now add remainder of ingredients and fold together. Fold is the key word, try not to over mix.
Drop the cookie dough by teaspoons on a ungreased cookie sheet/ baking tray. Since its orange it might look dark so make sure not to mess up. Only kidding these are pretty easy not to mess up. Bake at 375 f* for 12-15 mins. This makes four dozen so if you want to bump up to tablespoon size instead of the teaspoon, add 3 more mins to the cook time(14-17 mins). This will make about 2 dozen.
Immediately remove from sheet or place in a cool area and let cool down some before eating. This is another 50 plus year old recipe, and it works really well. Enjoy
