They are compared this way because of the consistently bad treatment they afford their employees.
Although farmers markets have a lot of resellers, they are still a better option for fresh local produce. Amazon and Walmart are compared for various reasons, such as their global supply network, standardized products, efficiency and cost cut. They follow industrial logics while ignoring environmental consequences and jeopardizing social justice.
Corporatism is trying to kill us all.
Plutocracy is funneling through even Bill Gates.
