Eating Healthy Away from Home

in #food5 years ago (edited)

One of the challenges of traveling away from home is trying to find reasonably priced food that is still healthy. I like to eat a good salad as one meal of the day. One of the benefits of staying in a timeshare is that I get a fully stocked kitchen.

A quick trip to the grocery store allows me to purchase groceries to make inexpensive but healthy salad fixin’s.

This salad had my usual ingredients: romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, sweet onions, and avocado. I added grilled portobello mushrooms to this meal with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

I don’t know why salads are so expensive in restaurants, but I bought enough ingredients for two full meals.

Bon Appetit!
