Kentucky Bourbon Trail - Woodford Reserve

Kentucky is known for its Bourbon and proudly boasts about this. Being a Kentuckian, I attempted the Kentucky Bourbon Trail a few years ago, but due to some being too far for me to drive alone, I was unable to complete it. For first timers, you get a passport book. For each distillery you visit, you get it stamped. If you visit each distillery and successfully remember to get your passport stamped at each one, you can turn your passport in (by mail, I believe) for a shirt. Today, I am going to take you on a tour of my adventure to the Woodford Reserve Distillery.

If I had to say, since I'm not much of a drinker, and only having sampled just a few of the Bourbons, Woodford Reserve is probably my favorite. It has a smooth taste and the sting factor isn't nearly what others are. Also, Woodford Reserve is the oldest bourbon distillery in Kentucky as well as the smallest.

I went on a very hot day in the summer, and the breeze from the porch was so nice, the sipping some spiked lemonade with just a hint of their Bourbon and sitting in a rocking chair was relaxing. I was waiting for the next tour to start!

While waiting for the next tour to start, I was able to take photos of the store inside and also sample some bourbon. Although, they had the shot glasses of bourbon set up for the tour that was getting ready to end, I was able to get a couple of photos!

They even have homemade bourbon balls for you to try! They were so rich and chocolaty with a hint of bourbon. Just yummy!
