Christmas Pizza!
My family held our holiday gathering before Christmas, so Christmas Day itself was rather sedate and uneventful. I had previously decided that I wanted pizza, so I already had the ingredients on hand from last-minute Christmas Eve shopping. I made one pizza with a new mozzarella cheese substitute. Unfortunately, I forgot to note the brand. However, it worked out fairly well. It came in a sort of round lump rather than a brick or a bag of pre-shredded not-cheese. It was a bit crumbly when I grated it, not that it mattered. The other pizza used a bag of shredded cheese mix. Can you tell which was which?
In hindsight, I should have added the toppings in a different order. Oh, well. It's always another experiment, and it tasted fine no matter what.
Mmmm, Love pizza!😋😋😋🍕
I am pleased with your pizza making skills!
bottom was the shredded? lol
Yup. What gave it away?
😂 which did you pref?
I could only safely eat the non-dairy one, so my basis of comparison is not much, but the fake cheese worked OK and tasted OK.
does it taste close to the real stuff? might have to try it sometime
Cheese substitutes are hit-and-miss. The "American Cheese Slices" make OK grilled cheese sandwiches, although the stuff wants to slide apart until it cools. The mozzarella substitutes are mostly OK for pizza toppings or the like. Cheddar alternatives are universally terrible in my experience.
