Tantalize your taste buds with "Chicken Shawarma Platter"

Hey there!

It's been a while I haven't posted something tempting and mouth watering. Yes, you guessed it right! Today I am here with a very famous and delicious recipe, which is very easy to cook with all the generally available food items at home.

Introducing Chicken Shawarma Platter

Chicken Shawarma Platter is an arabic food, traditionally served in a plate with marinated and deliciously cooked boneless chicken pieces, salad, pita bread and sauces.

Origin and it's making
Some people say good things are no where to be found I don't agree with their verdict as this fast-food is not only in Middle East but also in Europe, Canada and Australia.

Seasoned meat is generally cooked in the pan with all the available and required spices to give it the required taste. It includes tomato, onion with sumac, pickled cucumber and chili. Salad and juicy sauce has also been prepared along to enjoy the taste and tantalize the taste buds.

Ingredients

We can enjoy chicken shawarma platter at home as it's very easy to make, I have tried many times and I just love it. For shawarma platter you need:

  • Pita Bread 4-6
  • Chicken fillet 500g
  • Yogurt 4 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
  • turmeric 1 tbsp
  • Chili sauce 2 tbsp
  • vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 1 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp

For Salad

  • Cucumber 1
  • Green chilies 4-6
  • Onion 1 (sliced)
  • Vinegar ½ cup
  • Salt ¼ tbsp

For Mayonnaise Sauce

  • Mayonnaise ½ cup
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp
  • Red chili sauce 1 tbsp

Method to Prepare

Spicy Chicken Preparation

  • Mix together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, salt, ¾ tbsp red chili powder, ¾ tbsp red chili flakes, turmeric 1tbsp, vinegar and soya sauce (1 tbsp each).

  • Coat chicken fillet in marination and leave for 2 hours.

  • Grease the grill pan and grill chicken from both sides.

  • Now thinly slice the grilled chicken.

  • Heat oil in a pan, add sliced chicken along remaining red chili powder and red chili flakes. Also add chili sauce and stir for 2 minutes on high heat. (You can skip this step you don’t want spicy shawarma).

Salad Preparations

  • Deseed cucumber and green chilies and cut in strips.

  • Cut onion into thinly slices.

  • Put together cucumber, green chilies, onion, vinegar and salt in a bowl and mix gently. Keep in fridge for 30 minutes.

Sause Preparations

  • Mix all the above together sauce ingredients

Pita bread Preparations

  • Grease griddle pan and warm the pita bread from both sides and cut into halve.

Platter Shawarma Serving

In a platter arrange pitta bread, chicken, salad, mayonnaise sauce like shown in picture and serve warm.
Alternatively,
If you want to make Shawarma Roll then take a pita bread, place chicken followed by salad and both sauces. Roll pitta and secure with butter paper. Serve!!
