Let's cook Ukrainian Borsh:) (whole process description and photos inside)
Borsh is a dish of national ukrainian cuisine. It has as many recipes as there are womes who cook it, I'd love to share with you my version, pretty simple:)
So, what do you need:
- Oil
- Two potatoes
- A carrot
- A beet
- An onion
- Beans (100 gramm)
- Tomato pasta or tomato juice
- Salt (I use sea salt)
Let's start:)
- First of all put the beans in the water and cook untill they're ready. You may need to put the to water for a night before:
- Cut the carrot, onion and beet
- Now blend the together:
- Put them on a frying pan, on a tiny fire. Add a bit of oil and fry for 15-20 minutes:
- Now add tomato pasta or juice:
- Let it fru on a super low fire aslong as you whish. I usually keep the for 30minutes. At this time you can cut the potatoes:
- Have a pan of boiled water. Add the vegetables there (besides potatoes):
- Wait for 30 minutes. Then add beans, and wait again. Add potatoes. Try it - if the potatoes are ready - your borsh is ready:)
You may also add cabbage if you whish:) In the end add some sour cream directly to your plate:)
