Cooking with Diamantis 9: Salad as a complete meal

This meal is for those times that you want to have something very healthy and at the same time get all the nutrients macro and micro your body needs.

Yes, it is a salad but as you will see it is a complete meal. You get protein , carbs and fat and all the sources are lean and healthy.

Now that I got back on track with my fitness routine ( see tomorrow’s post ) , I eat salad as my main meal at least a couple times per week. And I actually enjoy them. They are fresh, light and delicious. There is no compromise on that.

What you need

This the fun part. There so many choices. You can be creative and adventurous and try new ingredients and combinations.

Green stuff. 200 gr
Cottage Cheese. It is a cream like cheese , very low in fat (4%) but high in protein. 200 gr
Smoked Salmon. Great source of protein and omega something fats. 100 gr
Half avocado. Avocado is high on healthy fats and if it is ripe it is very delicious.
Ginger. Adds hotness to the salad and it is also very good for the metabolism. Add as much as you can tolerate.
Salt and oregano.
Grated cheese
Olive oil.
Curcumin as it is the strongest antioxidant known to man.
Whole grain rye rusks. Just a couple.

Putting it all together

Ok, you don’t have to be a Michellen chef to make a salad.

You wash the veggies.

You peel and slice whatever needs peeling and slicing and put them in a plate.

On top of that you put some spices and grated cheese of choice.

Here it is. My salad !!!

You can add ingredients such as nuts or herbs or reduce some of them if it is too much food for you.
For me it was just fine and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ωραίος συνδυασμός! Πριν λίγες ημέρες φάγαμε μια αρκετά παρόμοια σαλάτα με τον συνέταιρο. Δεν σου λέω πού, θα σε πάρω να πάμε. Όταν φύγουν οι καύσωνες! Ωωωφφφ!!!!

περα απο την πλακα το πιατο περα απο νοστιμοτατο ειναι και αρκετα υγειινο...πιστευω λιγο ή πολυ το εχουμε δοκιμασει ολοι μας με καποιες παραλαγες φυσικα ο καθενας....προσοχη παιδια μονο με την καταναλωση του σολωμου....δεν κανει καλο σε μεγαλες ποσοτητες ...δηλαδη αν ειναι βασικο προιον στη διατροφη σας ,εγω θα σας ελεγα ξανασκεφτειτε το

ναι , εχεις δικιο . σολωμος και τονος δεν ειναι για πολλα.

Salmon and curcumin are my favorites. I can change the vegetables every time I make a an other salad. Very tasty.

Yes, that;s the spirit. Change a couple of thing and you have a completelly different dish.
