Celebrate This Valentine's Day With A South Asian Delicacy "Chicken Biryani"!

Today, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, i am going to share with steemians an original homemade, south asian delicacy "Chicken Biryani" Recipe. Cook this for your valentine and eat it together, i am sure this would be the best gift this valentine.....

Ingredients:

Chicken 1 kg cut into medium sized pieces
Basmati rice 750gms
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Salt 2 tsp
All Spice pwd 2tsp
Red Chilli powder 1tsp
Turmeric 1tsp
Cardomom powder 1tsp
Yogurt 400grms
Onions fried golden brown 3 big
Coriander 1 bunch finely chopped
Mint leaves 1/2 bunch finely chopped
Lemon 2 nos
Saffron 2 big pinch soaked in 1/2 cup milk
Orange food color

Method:

  1. Wash chicken and marinate it in salt, ginger garlic paste, all spice powder for at least 2 hours.

  1. Take a big thick bottomed vessel add the marinated chicken to it, now add chili powder turmeric powder, mint leaves, coriander leaves, fried onions (leaving )little for garnishing, Oil 6 tbsp, whisk the yogurt and add to it and also add Lemon juice. Mix well and keep refrigerate for another 2 hours.

  2. Soak rice at least for 10 minutes before cooking.

  3. Boil water in a big pot 1.5 litre, along with 6 cardamon, 2 Bay leaf , 2 Cinanom , 5 green chillies slit into half...
    salt 3 tsp or as per taste.

  1. When the water is boiling add the rice and cook until it para boiled, strain the water and keep rice aside.

  2. Add this para boiled rice over the marinated chicken and also add 2 tsp clarified butter, saffron milk and orange color on top of it.

  3. Garnish the remaining fried onions mint and coriander leaves , cover the pot with a tight lid so that the steam is intact and does not leak out.

  4. Place a pan on low medium stove and place this pot over it and cook with a tightly closed lid for 40 mins and serve hot.
