Hot smoothie for a healthy heart - with apple, grapes, ginger, banana, walnuts, fresh mint, lime juice and chili

This smoothie is a true health bomb. It is loaded with bioactive compounds that have powerful effects on your wellbeing, heart and brain. It is stuffed with valuable nutrients.

The ginger contains Gingerol and is used in traditional but also alternative medicine. The amino acid l-arginine of walnuts is good for your heart health. Chili peppers are rich in vitamins and also in minerals. Bananas contain potassium and several antioxidants. Grapes hold vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and also essential minerals. Apples help to lower cholesterol levels and lime is a good source for Vitamin C and the natural oils of lime are very beneficial for our skin. Fresh mint offers iron, a mineral which is of value in the production of red blood cells in our body.

Here is what need:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple (I prefer the sour Granny Smith)
  • a handful of walnuts
  • a handful of fresh mint leaves
  • three to four handfuls of red grapes
  • ginger root - around 1 cm of it
  • juice of 1/2 to 1 lime
  • chili pepper if you prefer it spicy but the ginger root already gives some hot flavor

Cut it all well.
