BRAZILIAN SWEET TREATS:🍴 Kid Friendly BRIGADEIRO and BEIJINHO RECIPES💋 with Sofia

in #food7 years ago

One thing that I love to do to spend quality bonding time with my stepdaughter Sofia is to cook together. 👭

However, there are not a whole load of recipes that kids can do the majority of without parents needing to take over to chop, fry or put things in the oven. Sofia is half Brazilian and these recipes for brigadeiro (chocolate fudge truffles) and beijinho (coconut truffles) are great for adults and kids alike and super popular at any party or work function! 👍

You don't need many indgredients at all! Just sweetened condensed milk, butter/magarine, chocolate milk powder, shredded coconut, rainbow and chocolate sprinkles and of course some cute mini cupcake cases. 💕

Brigadeiro Recipe 🍬

Ingredients: 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine, 4 tablespoons of chocolate milk power and the chocolate and rainbow sprinkles.

First, Sofia needs to empty the can of condensed milk into the saucepan.

She adds her 4 tablespoons of chocolate milk powder, and also the tablespoon of butter.

Grab a spatula, because it's time to stir it all together!

❗The Only Adult-Only Step In The Process:❗Put the pan of chocolatey mixture on the hob, on a pretty low heat (so as not to burn) and stir continuously for about 5 minutes (ish) until the mixture has reached the "ponto do brigadeiro". This is when it is solid enough to be rolled, and is coming away from the pan like this and sitting in the middle. I stir it for a minute or 2 longer when it is like this just to be sure I will definitely be able to roll it.

You need to butter a plate and pour the chocolately mixture there to cool until it is a good enough temperature for your little ones hands to handle. While we are waiting, Sofia gets the cases and the sprinkles ready. We are going to a Brazilian party tonight so we have chosen cases in the colours of the Brazilian flag (and also some pink ones for fun!)

Once your chocolate is cool enough to handle, you will need to butter your hands and roll little balls, like Sofia is here.

Roll your little balls in the rainbow or the chocolate sprinkles so you have some beautiful looking candies

So beautiful, so easy, and soooo yummy

Beijinho Recipe 💋

I love beijinho even more than I love brigadeiro. Beijinho, which means "little kiss" in portuguese, are basically the same recipe but you don't add the chocolate milk powder, and you roll the balls in coconut instead of sprinkles!

Ingredients: 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 tablespoon of butter, shredded coconut.

👯 And now we are ready to Party! Pronto pra celebrar! 👯

Hope you try this recipe! You will love it! I will try and post some more of my favourite Brazilian Recipes for you guys for Coxinha, Pao de Quejo, and Moqueca.

💚💛💙I challenge my Brazilian friends on here @fernandamummy and @andyluy to show us some of your favourite Brazilian recipes as well!💙💛💚

Have a great weekend! Um beijo from Hannah and Sofia! 💕
