Hangover?
Morning my Steemian friends! I trust you all had a fun night last night and I imagine there are more than a few of us with raging hangovers. I would like to present my most recent hangover cure. In the past I have espoused the benefits of the Full English Breakfast as the quintessential hangover cure but, living here in the Caribbean it is beyond difficult to find the requisite ingredients so circumstance has led me to seek other cures, heaven forbid giving up on the occasional beer.
So here it is -
1, Take your blender jug and add this much lemon juice
2, Add this much Passion Fruit Juice
3, I like to take a 3 inch chunk of ginger root, chop it up then boil it in about two pints of water. Let it cool then store it in the fridge so it's ready to add this much (though a sieve) to my juice mix
4, Add 3 or 4 Bananas. 4 if you are seriously hungover. Apparently the potassium in the Bananas helps to ease the symptoms of excessive partying.
5, And finally, add about this much Papaya (de-seeded and peeled)
6, Blend
7, Enjoy
As an added extra, if you can find it, I sometimes add three dessert spoons of natural Greek yogurt. The yogurt adds a tang to the flavor and the probiotic cultures found in a good quality yogurt are super beneficial to your intestinal health. Adding the yogurt also makes me feel a little less guilty about the abuse I submitted my body to the night before. So that's it Ladies and Gentlemen. Have a Merry Christmas and if you drink one of these after a few alcoholic bevvies you can feel a little less guilt the next morning.
Please forgive the poor quality photos, the iphone4 is seriously old.
sounds very sweet which I'm sure is welcome with a sour hangover! will keep it in mind. I've also found stinging nettle tea to be very helpful
Fortunately the Ginger water takes some of the sweetness away, not sickly at all. I would love to try stinging nettle tea but it doesn't grow here
Good to know...thx, will be used ;)
it is damn tasty!
