Salsa Kitchen Ruamchok / Chiang Mai : Just as good as their more popular location
Weeks ago I determined to try every single Mexican or Tex-Mex establishment in all of Chiang Mai. At first I thought this would be an easy task but just when I think I have gone to all of them, I find another one. I guess that is one of the benefits of living in an area with more than a million residents. As always I go to these establishments blind and order more or less the same thing so I can compare tacos to tacos. It wouldn't be fair otherwise. I never read any reviews before attending and sometimes the establishments don't even exist anymore. Thankfully, this one did.
What happens when a place opens at 3 and you arrive at 3:15 pm? You end up being the only person in the restaurant because most people have normal-person jobs. That was the case with me and I am perfectly ok with it. I dine alone a lot and I am not one of the people that this bothers.
I knew I was going to get some sort of tacos here but I already knew about the fact that this particular chain (it's not really a chain in that they only have 2 locations) makes their own shells and in my opinion they are too wide. If you have to involved cutlery, it isn't a taco in my opinion.
This is what i ordered, and I wasn't even that hungry when I got there. It was immense and lets just say that even though I love Mexican food and this was done perfectly, I struggled to finish it. It was a challenge and i stepped up to it and yes, I did in fact finish it all.
They have an amazing menu and I suppose I would classify this place as mid-range as far as price is concerned. This massive lunch set me back around 250 Baht or around $8 US. That is a lot more than what most Thai people would spend on lunch and seeing as how a quick meal at a roadside restaurant or some noodles is $1-2, I suppose it is expensive. However, the amount of care that went into the creation of this absolutely divine lunch, while it is a bit out of my normal price range, is something that I would definitely return to.

I did not submit this review to Tasteem, but I strongly encourage any of you do to so (with your own review, not mine) because they do upvote your contribution and there is a chance for a weekly payout as well
If it was worth it, then $8 is a small price to pay
It's nice to arrive first at a restaurant and eat delicious meals like this without any problem :)
@gooddream so well you enjoy thee.but what about street fooding .
The restaurant is very clean and orderly. Display the menu displayed is also tempting taste. Unfortunately I'm not there to taste it with you, friend. You describe the food and restaurant perfectly.
Good friend good to read, spend 5 days without light, the situation is terrible here in Venezuela, but again reading new and great post as yours my respects as always.
Wow, that looks like it would be considered kind of upscale even for the US. I finally broke down today and had to look at a map to see where Chiang Mai is. Looks like it is n a big valley surrounded by mountains? The old city square with the "moat" around it looks interesting :) This place looks really awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Hi... @gooddream It seems like the food is very delicious to eat
