Homemade Serum Recipe

Hello today I bring you my recipe to make homemade buttermilk.

Whey is a derivative of milk, it is very tasty and typical of Venezuela. The preparation is very simple and they can play a lot with the ingredients, depending on their tastes they can add spices and vegetables.

It is applied as a dressing to almost any dish, I learned how to make it on a trip to apure and I always have a bottle in my kitchen.

The indispensable ingredients are whole milk and salt, particularly I put a little onion, sweet chilli, a little chili pepper, julienne paprika, garlic and cilantro.

In a clean glass bottle and preferably sterile (wash with hot water), pour the whole milk, vegetables, spices if you wish and salt to taste, we close very well and leave it outside the refrigerator where it does not hit direct sunlight

in about 3 days we will see how the milk is short and it acquires a smell of cheese, this is because the milk fats are separated from the water, do not worry, I know that many find it uncomfortable and unpleasant to think about taking milk in decay, but remember that milk derivatives like cheese and yogurt are prepared under the same principle of lactic fermentation.

Put the bottle upside down, let the fats separate from the water and carefully take out as much water as possible, if you wish you can skip this step, I do it because it acquires better consistency.

Ready! they already have homemade serum, remember to shake it well before serving it, with empanadas and arepas is very well.

Almost forgot, if by bad luck they have milk in their fridges and it is starting to get sour, can use it for this recipe and can give a delicious use instead of throwing it away.
