Yes you can. It isn't essential at all though I've seen people do these with pure protein powder instead of adding any flour at all. Wheat flour will have a bit more calories and carbs but it is only 15g.
How would pure protein powder affect the texture? Is there even any fluff?
Well they get a bit more dry, more like waffles.
