Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden

# It is a fantastic day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers today on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you! Today we made a spiral sliced honey ham, fresh garden salad, chicken and vegetable soup, spaghetti squash, and steamed potatoes!

Our bright, abundant meal was prepared over fire using wood that we salvaged from the landfill cycle - no electricity, no propane, and no petroleum needed for running our stove!

We started the meal with a fresh garden salad with greens and a vibrant selection of veggies! Today we used red bell pepper, red onions, grated carrots, sliced cucumber, and green onions. We always offer a selection of nuts, seeds, vinegars, oils, cheeses, and other toppings like nutritional yeast or croutons for each person to dress their salad to their exact taste!

We served a hot soup today with a nutritious bone broth base, chunks of chicken, onion, garlic, zucchini, yellow squash, celery, carrots, and a handful of herbs. Soups are delicious, and broth based ones like this are very hydrating and healthful! They are great additions to winter meals and very easy to make for a big group.

We made a spiral sliced honey ham as the main dish for our meat eaters. We topped it with a decadent sauce made from acorn squash, apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, allspice, and pineapple juice for a bright taste.

We steamed a large spaghetti squash to serve as a side dish too. When it was fork tender, we scraped it into a bowl. It's a fun veggie because it naturally separates itself into "noodles"! We tossed it with a bit of coconut oil and some fresh herbs for extra nutrition and flavor.

We made a simple pot of steamed orange sweet potatoes and creamy yukon gold potatoes too! We love potatoes of any variety. These are so easy to make! Just scrub the skin, poke with a fork, and steam until fork tender. We offered a selection of toppings for the potatoes too, including butter, sour cream, salt, and green onions.

It was a beautiful selection of high vibe, delicious, nutritious, sustainable food, and we shared it in great company and gratitude.

There was more than enough food for everyone!

# Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!

It's so nice of you, you promote natural food cook in an old fashion way. You reminded me my old days when my grand mom cooked food by firing wood. I still remember the yummy taste of food cooked in wooden fire and clay pots. Thanks for sharing @gardenofeden
