Juicer Magic - Green Apple, Cranberry, Ginger
The food industry is in such a sorry state it's better to do just about everything at home. When it comes to juices there is sugar and high fructose syrup in everything. Even the pure apple juices are made from the wrong apples. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but when it's time for sweets I favor tart. Granny Smith green apples are the only apples in my kitchen. Makes for such a great juice.
The first juice I ever made was ABC, apples, beets and carrots. It is not for everyone but I love it. Some people have called it "earthy" which is not surprising, two of them are roots.
I was experimenting with a green apple juice and wondering what I could add to spruce it up. There is still plenty of sugar in there so I decided on fresh cranberries. Fresh is the key word here because fresh cranberries are just about the tartest thing you can taste. Then I wanted a zinger with some power and health consequences.
You can vary this every which way but this tasted great to me.
9 granny smith apples
12oz of fresh cranberries
a thumb of ginger skin peeled off
I don't know about you but my juicer comes in a million pieces with many nooks and crannies. I make sure to clean it immediately with warm water and a toothbrush.
You can use cheese clothe to strain it but i have no problem with pulp.
A little ginger goes a long way so be careful. Enjoy.
