Ube and Pandan Puto Flan

Flan
▪ 4 egg yolks
▪ 1 can Condensed Milk
▪ 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Puto
▪ 1 cup Rice flour
▪ 1/2 cup Cake flour
▪ 2 1/4 teaspoon double acting baking powder
▪ 1/2 cup sugar
▪ 1/4 teaspoon salt
▪ 1/2 cup coconut milk, can
▪ 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon evaporated milk
▪ 2 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
▪ 1 teaspoon Pandan flavoring (green Puto) or 1 teaspoon Ube flavoring (purple Puto)

For the Flan
1. In a bowl or blender, combine egg yolks, condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix or blend together until well blended.
2. Grease molds and fill one-third with flan mixture. (Very important to grease your mold, I forgot to grease my mold and had a hard time removing puto from the mold).
3. Steam for 7-10 minutes or until the flan mixture is no longer runny. (Cover your steamer with towel to help absorb moisture).
4. Set aside to cool down.

For the Puto
1. In a medium bowl, mix or sift together all dry ingredients. Then add all wet ingredients. Stir or mix until well blended.
2. Pour in the puto mixture over the flan, fill almost to the top.
3. Steam for 15-20 minutes or until auto has risen. (Cover your steamer with towel to help absorb moisture).
4. Remove from steamer and let it cool down complete before removing from the molds.

You can also make Puto without the Flan

Looks delicious , I have had some similar treats but not Ube or pandan. In fact the only ube i've had is in Halo Halo and a Ube waffle.
